




Laneé is an admirable vocalist and lyricist, who is cognizant that nothing can come into fruition without the aid of the Holy Spirit.
She is vibrant, humble and a determined woman of business saluting her brothers and sisters with an exceptional spirit of love and concern. San Diego based but Alabama reared, she possesses a natural gift of song, fashioning her round tones and easy phrasing around contemporary jazz cuts, neo-soul soaring ballads, hip hop urbanity and reggae-doused praises.
Her wellspring of talent stems from her Huntsville, Alabama roots in Gospel Music. As an adolescent, she participated in her church's youth choir, as well as her school's jazz and orchestral band playing the flute.
After relocating to San Diego, California in the mid-80's, Laneé demonstrated her talent in several local blues, jazz, & top 40 bands, in which she became very successful. She was a requested favorite in many local San Diego venues. A hidden jewel to you perhaps, but once you hear the effortless and passionate vocals, you will never forget what you've experienced.
She has been influenced by numerous artists and genres of music from across the spectrum, including Nancy Wilson, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Sam Cook, Yolanda Adams, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley, The Police, Ray Charles, Natalie Cole, John Coltrane Whitney Houston and Stevie Wonder amongst many others. Her music is a reflection of the influences over the years and the changes experienced in life.
Laneé has traveled world-wide lending her gifts and talents to numerous concerts, festivals, outreaches and vocal studio work for local and national artists, as well as recorded commercial jingles. She has released 3 full solo, studio CD projects, a handful of singles and not to mention a plethora of vocals lent to various artists over a span of 19 years in the music industry. Her dedication to perfecting her craft of singing and songwriting has been an exceptional and wonderful journey.
Laneé is married to Pastor Antonio (Tony) D. Johnson and they have one daughter, Natecia Johnson.
